OUR MISSION IS TO INSPIRE AND EMPOWER UNDERSERVED YOUTH TO PURSUE ACADEMIC AND CAREER SUCCESS IN STEM FIELDS BY PROVIDING MEANINGFUL AND ENGAGING STEM LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Check out our brand new STEM program: Project VERB!

Our organization provides extended learning STEM programs that are facilitated by teachers or staff from your school or organization. In addition to our year-long STEM curriculum we will drop 3 fun and completely unique, mystery STEM challenges as part of our core coding and robotics skill building curriculum. Teachers will guide students down a path of discovery and innovation, with the ultimate goal of creating meaningful learning artifacts. Students will leverage educational technologies to research, identify, prototype and share their work with our community of dedicated parents, teachers, and friends!

New! An LSA Original: Blue Bots Early Learning Curriculum

STEM education belongs in classrooms of all sizes

We work with early educators to leverage educational technologies into their every day curriculum, with products like Blue Bots! We provide teachers with equipment they need, and an all-original K-3 curriculum that has students explore new technology through fun activities that include multicultural literature and Common Core-aligned math activities. The curriculum uses Blue Bot robots as a vehicle for the exploration of early education concepts such as letter recognition, math and spatial awareness, and to lay groundwork for basic coding concepts by developing a familiarity with vocabulary.

Outreach

Latino STEM Alliance sees STEM education as a key step in a career ladder for economically disadvantaged populations who may be less likely to pursue these opportunities without strong encouragement and support. We partner with schools and community organizations to address the challenge through inspiration—helping children imagine themselves in STEM fields—and empowerment—giving children access to hands-on STEM learning.

Our Impact

Since 2010, LSA has impacted the lives of over 4,000 low-income elementary, middle and high school students of color in the Boston area. We provide youth and children with a rich blend of opportunities, experiences, and relationships that support and inspire them to succeed academically and engage in 21st century learning practices, including the innovative use of educational technologies, and how to collaborate in virtual environments.
